Floating Bits (SOLD)

Floating Bits (SOLD)

Some of my earliest recollections of sexuality took place by a swimming pool; air thick with the smell of chlorine as my peers and I undressed behind loosely-held beach towels. Changing rooms, with their naked adult butts and swinging willies, evoked a fresh sense of anxiety and excitement — a sure-sign of things to come as I edged cautiously towards puberty.

This painting was made in preparation for my first solo exhibition, planned for 2018, which explores the role of the swimming pool in Queer Australian culture.

Acrylic on Canvas paper measuring 420 x 297mm (unframed).
